ANVIL™
Upgraded Iron Phosphate-coated prill AnVil - our upgraded Iron-based molluscicide.
Most Iron Phosphate slug baits hide behind synthetic EDTA – ANVIL™ doesn’t. With a biodegradable, organic chelator, ANVIL™ delivers true mollusc control that’s effective, rain fast, and certifiably sustainable.
For years, slug and snail baits marketed as “iron phosphate” have been promoted as safe, effective, and organically suitable. The truth is that iron phosphate on its own is harmless to molluscs. These products only work because they include EDTA, a synthetic chelating agent that reacts with iron phosphate to form FeEDTA - the real molluscicide. Because EDTA is not organically certifiable, labelling these baits as “iron phosphate actives” is misleading to farmers, consumers and regulators alike.
At Blum Biologicals, we believe farmers deserve solutions that are both effective and honest. That’s why we created ANVIL™, the first coated granule to combine iron phosphate with a natural, carbohydrate-based chelating agent. This biodegradable chelator is sourced from renewable materials and provides strong binding to iron, delivering the same rain fastness and control as conventional baits - without reliance on synthetic EDTA.
